The origin of Bodegas Góngora dates back to the Golden Age in which Seville was the Port of the Indies. At this time, the Catholic Kings drafted a Royal Alcabala forcing all ships that departed for America to carry a third of their load of products from the land. Many of those galleons fulfilled it by carrying wine.
